The FILSCAP Songwriters’ Night Open Mic is now on it’s 13th leg and we’ve heard a total of 86 original compositions last October 16, 2019 at Upperhouse BGC.  We were so amazed to see the support from some songwriters who even came from work and school. We’ve seen some amazing performances and met a lot of songwriters with interesting and inspiring stories to tell. Watch this video to get to know some of them:

The night was opened by an energetic performance of Hazel Faith’s acoustic version of “Kinikilig”. 😍 She is actually a FILSCAP member and recently joined the  Songwriting Camp Year 4.

Magiliw Street, amazed the crowd and got us falling in love with their song “Irog”! Can you believe that these power trio students literally came from a midterm exam and went to perform at our event after? 💯 #studentpower

JABEZ BAND captured our hearts with their song “Sinta”, a love song they wrote at 3 in the morning. They usually write Gospel songs so this song has a special place for them.

Jupiter Street‘s Rajhan Lennon wrote “Katahimikan” because he was inspired by Barbie Almalbis‘ talk during the #FILSCAPMastersLectureSeries💯👌🏻The band’s singer, Monica Amodia, traveled far with her mom just so she can perform and she even has exams the next day. 😱

Sud Ballecer, our guest composer and vocalist of SUD, performs “Di Makatulog” and leaves a special message to the first time performers:

“Okay lang yan kahit kinakabahan ka. Ibig sabihin niyan mahal mo talaga yung ginagawa mo. Masasanay ka din as time goes by.”

And hey, did we mention we had some Master Camp guests over to support the songwriters? Say hello to Top Suzara, Davey Langit, Jungee Marcelo, Trina Belamide, Yumi Lacsamana, Tito Cayamanda, Vehnee Saturno, Herbert Hernandez, Paulo Zarate, and Marlon Barnuevo!

Now off to Cebu for our last Open Mic for 2019!
