#ivaluemusic
Championing the value of music and intellectual property rights of music creators have been our core mission for more than 50 years. The Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (FILSCAP) is a non-stock non-profit association of composers, lyricists and music publishers established in 1965 to primarily help music users get the necessary permission to use copyrighted local and foreign songs, and help music creators get royalties for the use of their songs. It is a member of the Paris-based International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC), the umbrella organization for 232 creator rights management organizations worldwide.
FILSCAP has been duly accredited by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines to operate as a Collective Management Organization (CMO) for music creators and copyright owners, and to primarily license the public playing, broadcast and streaming of the songs of its members, and the members of its affiliate foreign societies. Currently, FILSCAP’s repertoire covers over 20 million copyrighted local and foreign songs.
Beyond our role as a collecting society...
We are music advocates! Our love for music goes beyond our functional role as a CMO. We conduct events that promote public awareness and respect for music copyright and events that promote local music creation and development. These activities help our member songwriters enhance their songwriting skills, widen their connections within the music community, and be equipped with experiences that may help them advance with their careers in the music industry.
